Job Summary
Hitachi Energy Canada Inc. is seeking a skilled Welder Specialist to join our team. As a Welder Specialist, you will be responsible for reading assembly drawings and welding simple and complex components, including pipes, according to drawings or other production documents and instructions.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret assembly drawings and weld components according to specifications.
- Handle components and assemblies with electric winch, forklift, and/or overhead crane.
- Check and repair weld leaks according to specifications and established methods.
- Mark, assemble, and tack simple and complex components according to drawings or other production documents and instructions.
- Solder, grind, and mark, assemble, and tack copper foils inside tanks or other components.
- Minimize distortion caused by soldering.
- Solder and desolder current transformer components.
- Complete check sheets and required documents.
Requirements
- Diploma of vocational studies obtained following training lasting 18 months to 2 years.
- Minimum 2 years' relevant experience.
- Knowledge and ability to use oxy-acetylene equipment and electric arc welding (SMAW, GMAW, SAW, FCAW, pulsed arc), on all metals and in all positions.
