Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Patient Care Aide to join our interdisciplinary team. As a Patient Care Aide, you will be responsible for providing support services to patients, contributing to the efficiency and quality of patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Nursing and interdisciplinary staff with patient care, ambulation, and repositioning
  • Transport patients within the unit using wheelchairs, stretchers, and walking escorts as directed
  • Respond to call bells and assist with hand hygiene before meals
  • Monitor and replenish patient safety supplies, including hand sanitizer and patient restraints
  • Participate in daily CPI huddles and demonstrate QCH values: collaboration, accountability, innovation, and respect

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 education
  • Knowledge acquired through the successful completion of an accredited health-related course (e.g., Personal Support Worker or equivalent)
  • Valid CPR certification level C
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Able to maintain effective relationships with team members and collaborate with healthcare teams
