Senior Accountant Job Description

Multiview Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in Ottawa. As a key member of our Finance team, you will be responsible for maintaining the company's financial integrity and providing support in a wide range of finance and accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Manage daily accounting activities, including general ledger entries, payables, receivables, bank reconciliations, accruals, and prepaids entries
  • Prepare recurring subscription and contractual milestone payments per customer contract
  • Prepare payroll and related payroll entries for both Canada and US employees
  • Prepare and review sales taxes in both Canada and the U.S to ensure compliance
  • Liaise with external partners in the preparation of annual income tax returns, annual reports, and year-end audit
  • Assist in developing and implementing process improvements and expand and/or improve the existing internal control environment
  • Prepare and analyze regular and ad-hoc financial reports to support management decision-making
  • Provide guidance to department leads on how to interpret financial results
Requirements:
  • A degree with a focus on accounting or finance from a recognized university or college
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in a similar accounting/finance role
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting standards such as ASPE or IFRS
  • CPA or progress towards CPA considered an asset
  • Ability to work independently within a team environment and take initiative
  • Familiarity with an enterprise accounting applications system, and high proficiency in MS Excel
