About the Role:
Giant Tiger is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Grocery Associate to join our team in Kingston. As a key member of our store team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a high level of product knowledge, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Accurately process customer transactions, handle cash and credit transactions, and maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
- Restock merchandise, maintain visual merchandising standards, and ensure a well-stocked and visually appealing store environment.
- Follow up on hot selling items, complete markdowns and SKU changes as needed, and maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Perform cycle counts, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
- Ensure health and safety policies and guidelines are followed, and report any incidents or concerns to management.
Requirements:
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service.
- Ability to handle a variety of tasks, including cash handling, inventory management, and visual merchandising.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with customers, colleagues, and management.
Working Conditions:
The physical demands of this role include standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 18 kg (40 lbs.). You will also be required to perform tasks involving firm grasping, repetitive hand motions, and reaching above shoulder height and below waist level.
