About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist II to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and supervision to allied health clinical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical mentorship and leadership to allied health clinical services
  • Supervise students and team members as assigned
  • Coordinate occupational therapy and other allied health clinical services within a program or service area
  • Make day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge, and follow-up
  • Provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient, and effective client care
  • Ensure occupational therapy practice is evidence-based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics, and AHS policy and guidelines
  • Participate in program development and operational planning
  • Represent the department on committees or programs
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT)
  • Three years previous experience working in a community setting
  • Ability to conduct sensory and environmental assessments
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in an addiction and/or mental health setting with clients who have mental health and/or addiction issues, developmental disabilities issues
  • Certification as an Alberta Aids to Daily Living (AADL) authorizer
  • Experience leading a team
