We are seeking a highly motivated First Nations Community Liaison Specialist to join our team at the Anishinabek Employment & Training Services. As a liaison specialist, you will play a vital role in building relationships with First Nation communities and providing support for the coordination of holistic mental wellness care. You will work closely with clients, families, and staff to ensure the provision of comprehensive and culturally sensitive services.
This is a full-time position that requires a strong understanding of traditional healing practices and western medicine. You will work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to the development and implementation of programs that promote overall health and wellbeing within First Nation communities.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A Bachelor Degree in the Social Sciences, with a focus on Indigenous Learning and Cultural Studies or equivalent degree preferred.
- Two (2) years of experience in working in health-related organizations in a service coordination capacity, with strong organizational and leadership skills, and a sound knowledge of professional standards of practice for healthcare.
- Two (2) years of experience working in a First Nation community or equivalent organization.
- A satisfactory Criminal Records Search with Vulnerable Sector Search.
- The ability to work flexible hours as determined by the Manager or designate in relation to service delivery requirements.
- A valid Ontario Driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.
