Job DescriptionThis role involves serving as a constable in the VIA Rail Police service, enforcing federal or provincial laws related to the protection of property owned by VIA and ensuring the safety and security of passengers and employees. Responsibilities include:
- Patrolling assigned areas, intervening as necessary in certain situations;
- Providing an initial response to priority calls for service;
- Assisting other officers and first responders;
- Carrying out minor investigations and assisting regional police departments;
To be successful in this role, you must have graduated from basic training at a recognized Canadian police college, have at least 5 years of experience as a police officer, and possess excellent oral communication skills in both official languages.
You will also need to undergo an in-depth background check and meet strict physical requirements, including passing standard physical aptitude tests and maintaining firearms proficiency.
