The Light Patrol Social Worker role is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people experiencing homelessness or at risk of experiencing homelessness. As a key member of our team, you will provide vital support and guidance to help our youth navigate the challenges they face, while also developing and maintaining relationships with local social service agencies and organizations.

Responsibilities
The Light Patrol Social Worker will be responsible for:
1. Building trust-based relationships with youth who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of experiencing homelessness, and providing them with a safe and supportive environment to share their experiences and concerns.
2. Providing comprehensive support services to youth, including counseling, mentorship, and connection to essential resources such as healthcare, education, and employment opportunities.
3. Collaborating with local social service agencies and organizations to develop and implement effective solutions to address the complex needs of our youth.
4. Facilitating access to critical resources, such as housing, food, and clothing, to ensure our youth receive the support they need to thrive.
5. Participating in multidisciplinary teams and meetings to discuss and address various issues affecting our youth, including mental health, addiction, and child protective services.

Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will require:
1. A Bachelor of Social Work degree or equivalent experience.
2. Strong understanding of social services available for youth, particularly in Toronto and Durham Region.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with youth, staff, and community partners.
4. Experience working with vulnerable populations, including those experiencing homelessness or at risk of experiencing homelessness, is an asset.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
6. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to complex challenges.
7. Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, with a willingness to stay up-to-date on best practices and research in the field of youth homelessness and social work.
