Social Worker Position

The Vancouver Island Health Authority seeks a skilled Social Worker to join their multidisciplinary health care team. As a member of this team, you will provide assessment, intervention, consultation, and referral services to clients and their caregiver/families where social, economic, emotional, or psychological circumstances present barriers to care and an optimum level of function.
This position requires a strong understanding of the Vision, Purpose, and Values of the Vancouver Island Health Authority and a commitment to patient safety. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
The Social Worker will also be responsible for travel between multiple sites, which may require the use of a personal vehicle. A valid BC Driver's License is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide assessment, intervention, consultation, and referral services to clients and their caregiver/families
- Work as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team
- Travel between multiple sites
Required Qualifications
A Bachelor of Social Work degree from a recognized university is required, along with current full registration with the BC College of Social Workers. Post-degree preparation in care for the seriously and persistently mentally ill and/or significant substance use (concurrent disorders) is also essential. Two years' recent, related experience is preferred.
Benefits
This position offers a competitive salary range of $42.27 - $52.81 per hour. Additionally, employees are eligible for up to a $20,000 signing bonus, subject to eligibility criteria. This role is a regular full-time position with a Planned Start Date of Feb. 20 2025.
