At Best Way Constructions, we are seeking a skilled Plastering Specialist to join our team. As a Plastering Specialist, you will be responsible for applying successive coats of compound and sanding seams and joints to ensure a smooth finish. You will also be required to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements and estimate costs and materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
- Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
- Estimate costs and materials
- Clean and prepare surfaces
- Cure freshly plastered surfaces
- Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
- Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in finish coat, if required
- Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency
- Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim
- Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
- Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry
- Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound
- Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied
- Install exterior and interior steel studs
Requirements:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
- English language proficiency
Work Environment:
- 35 hours per week
- Permanent work term
