Your Opportunity

Our Edmonton office is seeking a Senior Associate, Mergers and Acquisitions Specialist to join our Advisory team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting business development initiatives, including pitches and proposals;
  • Preparing financial models, including LBO models and preliminary company valuations;
  • Performing in-depth financial analyses on companies, analyzing earnings and cash flows, operating working capital requirements, and key drivers of financial performance;
  • Preparing lists of potential acquisition targets, buyers, and/or investors, and conducting market, industry, and company research;
  • Communicating directly with transaction counterparties, including clients, targets, potential buyers, other advisors, and lenders;
  • Assisting in the preparation of professional transaction documents, such as teasers and confidential information memorandums.

Your Experience and Education

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related major, with a CPA, CFA, or CBV designation;
  • 3 to 4 years of audit, valuation, corporate finance, or M&A advisory experience;
  • Motivated, detail-oriented, autonomous, rigorous, and able to work under pressure;
  • Above-average proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word);
  • Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and attention to detail;
  • Will to work outside normal business hours and travel internationally as required.
