Position Overview
The Maintenance Supervisor role is crucial for overseeing and directing the efforts of both skilled and unskilled maintenance personnel. This position ensures that all maintenance activities adhere to established methods and procedures, aimed at maintaining, repairing, and servicing equipment, buildings, and facilities in alignment with safety standards and building regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance team to ensure effective operations and adherence to safety protocols.
- Conduct regular inspections of projects to confirm compliance with specifications.
- Manage inventory levels of materials, parts, and specialized tools necessary for maintenance tasks.
- Establish and maintain preventative maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime.
- Utilize IFS software for tracking maintenance activities and documentation.
- Coordinate with contractors and ensure they possess the required documentation.
- Analyze completed inspection forms to verify that all maintenance and repair tasks are executed properly.
- Develop work schedules and prioritize tasks to address emergencies effectively.
- Monitor operating budgets and project costs associated with maintenance activities.
Qualifications
- Licensed electrician (309A or 442A) is mandatory.
- Additional journeyperson trade certification in a relevant field is advantageous.
- Completion of secondary education or equivalent is required.
- MMP (Maintenance Management Professional) certification is a plus.
- A minimum of five years of experience in a maintenance machining environment, with at least two years in a supervisory capacity.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications and other relevant software.
- Familiarity with fire alarm systems and Ontario fire code regulations.
- Experience with Pareto analysis for diagnosing failures.
