About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Remediation Specialist to join our national Remediation Program Management (RPM) team at WSP Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate assessment and closure of contaminated sites
  • Oversee field work related to monitoring, investigating, and remediating contaminated sites impacted by hydrocarbons
  • Prepare technical reports and proposals
  • Develop and implement health and safety plans and emergency response plans
  • Collaborate with project managers to schedule field staff and subcontractors
  • Compile data for reports and write reports including preparing conclusions and recommendations
  • Conduct occasional field work including soil, groundwater, surface water, and vapour investigations, monitoring programs, and overseeing site remediation
  • Train junior staff in environmental practices and site-specific health and safety
  • Collaborate across the national RPM team and WSP Canada
Requirements
  • University degree or above in environmental science, engineering, or related field
  • Proven experience in contaminated site assessment
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience in an engineering consulting environment
  • Previous experience with soil and groundwater sampling
  • Analytical mind with ability to make recommendations on next steps for client sites
  • P.Eng. or P.Geo. designation preferred
  • Strong business acumen and financial management experience
  • Willingness to grow career within the RPM team
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse teams and multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
