The Opportunity


Barminco Mine Services Canada Ltd. is seeking an experienced Heavy-Duty Mechanic to join our team at the Hemlo Operations near Marathon, Ontario. This role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to work safely, efficiently, and effectively in a fast-paced underground mine environment.


Job Description


Reporting to the Maintenance Foreman, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy-duty equipment underground at the Hemlo Operations. Key responsibilities include:



  • Service, perform PMs, and mechanical repairs on underground CAT and Sandvick mobile mining equipment;
  • Identify and report required parts and materials needed to complete the job;
  • Work safely, efficiently, while practicing good housekeeping.

Required Skills and Qualifications


To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:



  • A minimum high school diploma or equivalency;
  • An Ontario Provincial or Inter-Provincial (Red Seal) Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician trade license required (421A);
  • Strong computer skills;
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working in a fast-paced underground mine environment;
  • Strong communications, organizational, and time management skills;
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment.

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per annum
