About the Role

We are seeking a Compensation Claims Specialist to join our team. This role will be based in Fort Saskatchewan, AB.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in Worker's Compensation claims management. They must have extensive knowledge of Workers Compensation policies & procedures, experience rating system, Occupational Health & Safety Act.

This includes managing workplace injury claims, reviewing incident investigation reports, assessing claims for initial entitlement, preparing submissions for objections, and completing Employer Reports of Injury.

The successful candidate will also liaise with provincial Worker's Compensation Boards across Canada and Health Care Practitioners to ensure effective claims management.

Responsibilities:

  • Pro-active Claims Management, cost relief/transfer requests, and appeal experience is an asset.
  • Liaise and collaborate with the Corporate Claims Team and report to the Corporate Claims Director.
  • Manage workplace injury claims with a focus on minimizing time loss and claim costs.
  • Case Management including return to work coordination and modified work accommodations.
  • Complex claims management and advisement including psychological claims.
  • Manage Workers' Compensation Appeals where appropriate.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a Post-Secondary education in a related field and a high level of oral and written communication skills. They must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Multi-provincial knowledge and experience would be considered an asset (BC, AB, SK, ON).

Salary Range

$90,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
