Claims Management Specialist

About the Role
EllisDon is seeking a skilled Claims Coordinator to join our team. As a Claims Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing workplace injury claims, minimizing time loss and claim costs, and ensuring effective claims management.
Key Responsibilities
- Pro-actively manage claims, cost relief/transfer requests, and appeals.
- Liaise and collaborate with the Corporate Claims Team and report to the Corporate Claims Director.
- Review incident investigation reports, assess claims for initial entitlement, and prepare submissions for objections.
- Manage workplace injury claims, focusing on minimizing time loss and claim costs.
- Case manage claims, including return to work coordination and modified work accommodations.
- Liaise with provincial Worker's Compensation Boards across Canada and Health Care Practitioners to ensure effective claims management.
- Manage Workers' Compensation Appeals where appropriate.
Requirements
- Post-Secondary education in a related field with 5-7 years of experience in Worker's Compensation claims management.
- Extensive knowledge of Workers Compensation policies & procedures, experience rating system, Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- High level of oral and written communication skills, ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines.
- Multi-provincial knowledge and experience would be considered an asset (BC, AB, SK, ON).
