Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Obstetrician and Gynecologist to join our medical staff at High River General Hospital. This is a full-time position with a mix of community-based clinic and hospital work, requiring on-call coverage to support local maternity clinic providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide obstetric and gynecological care to patients in a rural setting, including operative laparoscopy experience and the ability to operate without on-site backup of other surgical specialties.
  • Consult with local family physicians and midwives who provide low-risk obstetrical care, with no antepartum care required.
  • Participate in on-call 1 in 3, taken from home, with infrequent after-hours callouts.
  • Access to 2 full OR days per month for gynecology procedures.
Requirements
  • Qualified medical doctor with specialist certification in obstetrics and gynecology.
  • Eligible for independent practice through the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
  • Ability to work with and manage a multi-disciplinary team, with superior interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong surgical skills, including extensive laparoscopic skills and training, colposcopy accreditation, and experience in Quality Assurance and Safety reviews.
