About the Opportunity

The Dietitian plays a vital role in providing expert nutrition advice and care to patients, families, and communities. This position requires a strong understanding of dietetics and nutrition, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership in team efforts to support the nutritional health of patients, including the prevention, detection, and treatment of malnutrition and medical nutrition therapy using the Nutrition Care Process.

The Dietitian will work collaboratively with healthcare team providers to ensure quality and continuity of care, and will contribute to client care through sharing nutrition expertise and supporting a range of healthcare services. This position requires a strong commitment to evidence-informed practice and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

About You

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Dietitian to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from a recognized university, a Dietetic Internship Program, and current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Dietitians and Nutritionists. A minimum of one year of working experience as a Dietitian is preferred, with inpatient clinical nutrition experience being an asset. The successful candidate will also have competency in dysphagia management, enteral and parenteral nutrition, and experience counselling patients. Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications and effective interpersonal and communication skills are also essential.

Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent, full-time position with a 75-hour biweekly schedule. The hourly rate is $32.95 - $43.43, and successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
