We are seeking a highly skilled Project Director to lead our mine closure project. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the coordination of site teams and ensuring the successful execution of the project.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate critical activities between departments and stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
- Oversee the coordination of site teams, ensuring alignment with the Glencore Closure framework.
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to project team members, fostering a collaborative and performing work environment.
- Lead external communications with communities, first nations, government, and regulators, promoting transparency and trust.
- Ensure health, safety, environment, and community (HSEC) standards are met, promoting a safe and sustainable work environment.
- Report project progress to senior management and steering committees, providing regular updates and insights.
- Manage project approval protocols, ensuring timely and efficient decision-making.
- Supervise and control risk documentation associated with projects and studies, mitigating potential risks and ensuring compliance.
- Tertiary education in Engineering (metallurgical or process, mechanical, electrical, civil).
- Proven experience in project management, with PMP certification highly regarded.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in mine projects (concept, pre-feasibility, and feasibility).
- Solid experience in financial and cost modelling, with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
- Proven competence in steering group efforts and shaping decisions to realize business results.
- Experience managing and developing various stakeholder relationships, as well as coordinating and leading internal teams.
- Current knowledge of best practices and a strong focus on continuous improvement.
- Ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders and present information in a concise manner.
- Takes initiative, focuses on solving problems, and values teamwork.
- Good organizational and time management skills to efficiently work across multiple projects.
Language: English. Knowledge of French is an asset.
Location: Site-based in Timmins, Ontario.
TravelIn this role, you will be expected to travel domestically/internationally 5-10% of the time.
