In this critical role, you will oversee the entire mine closure project lifecycle, ensuring seamless execution and successful project delivery. As a seasoned project manager, you will lead cross-functional teams and drive strategic decision-making to achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate collaboration between departments and stakeholders to drive project progress.
- Coordinate site teams to implement the Glencore Closure framework.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to project team members to foster a high-performing work environment.
- Lead external communications with communities, governments, and regulators.
- Promote health, safety, environment, and community (HSEC) standards.
- Report project progress to senior management and steering committees.
- Manage project approval protocols and risk documentation.
Requirements:
- Tertiary education in Engineering (metallurgical or process, mechanical, electrical, civil).
- Proven experience in project management, with PMP certification highly regarded.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in mine projects (concept, pre-feasibility, and feasibility).
- Solid experience in financial and cost modeling.
- Proven competence in steering group efforts and shaping business decisions.
- Experience managing stakeholder relationships and leading internal teams.
- Current knowledge of best practices and a focus on continuous improvement.
- Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Language: English. Knowledge of French is an asset.
Location: Site-based in Timmins, Ontario.
Travel: 5-10% of the time.
