Job Summary:
The Physiotherapy Specialist is responsible for providing direct client services, including consultation, assessment, and treatment. They participate in departmental, program, and corporate professional activities and support direct services and corporate objectives. The incumbent delivers care consistent with the hospital's vision and values and the standards of relevant professional organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consultation, assessment, and treatment services to clients
- Participate in departmental, program, and corporate professional activities
- Support direct services and corporate objectives
- Deliver care consistent with hospital vision and values and professional standards
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of FIM, Berg Balance scale, Chedoke McMaster Stroke Inventory, TUG
- Ability to perform controlled act of delivery of Substance by Inhalation
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Commitment to standards of excellence and accountability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- French language proficiency is considered an asset
- Valid Ontario Driver's License with use of car and insurance
Education and/or Certification:
- License to practice Physical Therapy in Ontario - Required
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Physical Therapy - Required
- Relevant internship/educational placement experience - Required
- Eligibility for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association - Required
- Experience with Neurology, Amputees, and Geriatrics - Preferred
