About the Role
The District of North Vancouver is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Parking Enforcement Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, ensuring public compliance with municipal parking regulations and other bylaws.
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned areas by vehicle or on foot to enforce parking regulations and issue tickets as necessary.
- Investigate complaints from the public and gather evidence to support enforcement actions.
- Prepare reports and maintain records of enforcement activities.
- Assist a superior on specific enforcement tasks and other duties as required.
Requirements
- Sound knowledge of municipal bylaws and regulations related to parking.
- Working knowledge of other applicable municipal bylaws and regulations.
- Ability to deal tactfully and firmly with the public and exercise sound judgment and discretion.
- Ability to present evidence in court as required.
- Ability to perform simple clerical duties and prepare related routine records and reports.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 education and some experience related to law enforcement.
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's license.
- Ability to use a computer and obtain an RCMP security clearance.
Working Conditions
- Work will be performed in a variety of outdoor environments, including inclement weather conditions.
- May be required to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
