We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team at HTL Dental. As a key member of our dental team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for dental examinations and ensure they are comfortable and relaxed throughout the process.
- Prepare plaster models and moulds for dental procedures, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Order dental and office supplies as needed, and ensure that all equipment is in good working order.
- Prepare dental instruments and filling materials for procedures, and maintain a high level of sterility.
- Maintain and order supplies to ensure that our dental practice is well-stocked and equipped to meet the needs of our patients.
- Perform reception and clerical duties, including scheduling appointments and confirming patient information.
- Sterilize and maintain instruments and equipment to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our patients.
- Educate patients concerning oral hygiene and provide them with information on how to maintain good oral health.
- Prepare wax bite-blocks and impression trays for dental procedures, and ensure that all materials are of high quality.
- Schedule and confirm appointments with patients, and ensure that all necessary information is up-to-date.
- Pack plastic material in moulds to form full or partial dentures, and ensure that all dentures are of high quality and meet the needs of our patients.
- Take and develop X-rays as needed, and ensure that all X-rays are of high quality and meet the needs of our patients.
- Record dental procedures performed on patients, and ensure that all records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Invoice patients for dental services, and ensure that all billing is accurate and up-to-date.
- Polish and buff dentures to ensure that they are of high quality and meet the needs of our patients.
- Healing arts radiation protection (HARP) Certification is required for this role.
- Technical expertise in plastering, packing, waxing-up, polishing, and assembly is essential for this role.
- Computer and technology knowledge in MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Windows, and MS Word is required for this role.
- Area of specialization in full dentures, partial dentures, orthodontic appliances, crowns and bridges, and ceramic or porcelain application is an asset for this role.
- Work conditions and physical capabilities include working in a fast-paced environment, having attention to detail, and having hand-eye coordination.
- Personal suitability includes being a client-focused, efficient, and accurate individual who is a team player and has excellent oral communication skills.
- Experience of 1 year to less than 2 years in a dental support role is required for this position.
