Overview

AccorHotels seeks a seasoned leader to oversee hotel security operations, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for colleagues, guests, and visitors. As the Hotel Security Operations Manager, you will champion proactive work practices, develop and implement employee safety procedures, and lead initiatives to minimize workplace injuries.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in leadership and security or loss prevention. You must be available to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, and possess excellent communication skills to foster cooperation among employees. Occupational First Aid Level 2 certification is an asset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion safe work practices by creating and implementing employee safety working procedures, awareness programs, and accident prevention initiatives.
  • Manage all aspects of physical hotel security, including security personnel, keys, access control, passcodes, security cameras, alarms, guest room security, and security contract management.
  • Develop and deliver security and workplace health and safety orientation programs, fostering a culture of safety and security awareness.
  • Investigate, report, and follow up on internal and external security and health-related incidents or reports, conducting frequent audits and providing expert recommendations.
  • Work with external groups and/or security agencies on security measures for special events, groups, or VIPs, liaising with local law enforcement and community peers on security-related matters.
  • Lead and develop strategies, communication, training, and coaching for emergency systems and procedures, managing business continuity and crisis management (A.L.E.R.T.) programs.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate guidelines and procedures, owning hotel health and safety programs, and training, including safe work practices, employee security procedures, awareness programs, and accident prevention.
  • Chair the joint occupational health & safety committee, conducting monthly reporting and training for awareness, leading and training committee members and department managers in strategy development and execution.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of WorkSafeBC worksite requirements, ensuring compliance at all times, and manage and conduct regular security patrols.
  • Manage Occupational First Aid training and records for applicable staff and maintain security video systems, including access, storage, and training according to hotel protocols.
  • Ensure First Aid kits and equipment are maintained and stocked in a timely manner.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership role within a comparable industry.
  • Minimum 2 years of security, health & safety, or loss prevention experience.
  • Valid BC Security Worker License and WorkSafeBC Certificate of Recognition Auditor certification are assets.
