We are seeking a highly motivated Environmental Project Coordinator to join our Assessment, Remediation, Reclamation and Monitoring (ARRM) team in Grande Prairie.

As an Environmental Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for active participation in maintaining Matrix's strong safety culture. You will lead simple contaminated site field investigations projects and act as a leader in the workplace using Matrix Standard Operating Safety and Technical Procedures.

You will also be involved in initial interpretation of field data to make field-related decisions, working with senior technical advisors to ensure high-quality products that meet our clients' unique project needs. Your responsibilities will include understanding and adhering to project-related timelines and budgets.

You will prepare technical correspondence, proposals, work plans, cost estimates, and summary reports, assist with data entry, pre and post-field data requests, and scanning and filing of information associated with field activities. Additionally, you will prepare equipment orders and coordinate pooled testing equipment, inspect, clean, calibrate, and repair field equipment, and document.

Other key responsibilities include dispensing personal safety equipment, coordinating rental and fleet trucks, inspecting, cleaning, and managing maintenance of vehicles, and managing inventory levels/stock of equipment and consumables.

What We Are Looking For
  • A degree or technical diploma in environmental science or related field
  • Eligibility for registration in or maintaining a good standing in a professional organization
  • Self-motivated and possess strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Experience managing assessment, reclamation, remediation, and monitoring projects for Oil and Gas clients within a consulting environment would be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of Alberta and BC regulatory framework would be considered an asset
  • Experience writing technical reports or reviewing technical data
  • Experience working with various hand tools and mechanical equipment would be considered an asset
  • A valid and clean driver's license with no restrictions
