About the Role:
Voyageur Aviation Corp. is seeking a highly skilled Avionics Systems Engineer to join our Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and certifying avionics systems for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement system designs and certification plans for avionics systems modifications
- Manage projects from conceptualization to physical development, working with customers and stakeholders to fulfill project requirements
- Mentor and supervise system engineers to ensure high-quality work
- Interpret regulatory guidance to develop engineering data that supports minor or major repairs and modifications for customer aircraft
- Prepare engineering designs and reports with a focus on avionics systems modifications
- Create Certification Plans and demonstrate compliance to appropriate regulatory requirements
- Develop required written engineering reports to support the substantiation of projects
- Generate and submit supplemental aircraft manual documentation as required for repairs and modifications to the fleet
- Provide coaching and mentorship to junior engineering personnel in support of individual professional growth
- Work with a team of fabricators and installers to achieve the incorporation of designs onto the aircraft
- Coordinate with appropriate vendors in support of engineering projects
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering with a focus on avionics systems
- Master's degree in aerospace engineering considered an asset
- 3-5 years experience in design, analysis, and certification of avionics systems modifications
- Familiarity with Dash 7, Dash 8, and CRJ aircraft considered an asset
- Eng license in the province of Ontario
- Demonstrated knowledge with testing, troubleshooting, and problem-solving
- Demonstrated knowledge of Transport Canada Civil Aviation Regulatory Certification requirements
- Transport Canada Aircraft Certification Specialty and Change Product Rule Specialty Training or similar considered an asset
- Familiarity with Safety Analysis (i.e., DO-160), and regulatory requirements for a wide range of certification projects considered an asset
- Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently with minimal guidance from senior engineers
