Software Developer (Embedded) - Java

At Acuity Brands Lighting, Inc., we're committed to innovation and excellence. We're seeking a skilled Software Developer (Embedded) to join our research and development team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all phases of projects, from definition to deployment, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Develop embedded JAVA microservices and products related to artificial intelligence.
  • Conduct research and technology watch on embedded software development and JAVA.
  • Work with source code management and project management tools like Azure DevOps.
  • Contribute to the integration and continuous deployment of applications (CI/CD).
  • Develop, plan, and review software in a ShapeUp mode.
  • Improve design methods, tools, processes, and standards within the software team.

Requirements:

  • Computer Technician or bachelor's degree in computer science/computer engineering/electrical or similar.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software development.
  • Proficiency in JAVA and related technologies.
  • English and French read, written, and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in embedded or mobile software development.
  • Proficiency in JVM-related languages (Kotlin, Scala, Groovy, etc.).
  • Knowledge of low-level languages (Go, C, or Rust).
  • Knowledge of Jetty, Nginx, Linux, Gradle, Maven, or Docker.
