Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist to join our Echocardiography Team at Kelowna General Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures and related duties in collaboration with Radiologists, Cardiologists, and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receiving and verifying requisitions from Physicians for diagnostic ultrasound procedures.
  • Performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with established standards, procedures, and protocols.
  • Organizing workload according to exam priority and equipment availability.
  • Monitoring patient care and safety by ensuring procedures adhere to department standards, policies, and protocols.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A graduate degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasonography) from a recognized/accredited program.
  • Current certification with Sonography Canada as required for the assigned practice area (such as, Generalist and/or Cardiac) and/or current certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as required for the assigned practice area (such as, Abdomen/Small Parts, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Cardiac, and/or Vascular).
  • Eligibility for membership with Sonography Canada and/or ARDMS.
