Job Title: Educational Assistant - Support Student Learning

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Educational Assistant to join our team at District School Board Ontario North East. As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs, providing classroom support and promoting inclusive learning environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with special education needs, adapting to their unique requirements and abilities.
  • Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans, preparing materials, and maintaining a safe and organized classroom environment.
  • Support students with daily living skills, such as personal care, mealtime, and mobility.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other support staff to ensure a collaborative approach to student support.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting students with diverse needs.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Educational Assistant, Early Childhood Education, Developmental Services Worker, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience working with students with special education needs, preferably in a school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
