Job Summary

As an Education Assistant - Supervision Monitor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students during school hours. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide general supervision and monitoring of students during nutrition breaks, recess, departure, and arrival times, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Monitor outside yard duty during all recess periods.
  • Supervise hallways, classroom, and bathroom checks.
  • Monitor classrooms/lunch areas during breaks.
  • Monitor students in designated areas during inclement weather.
  • Ensure adherence to all COVID-19 and school safety protocols.
  • Address disciplinary issues and report any concerns regarding student behavior to the Principal/Vice Principal.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with school-aged children.
  • Ability to demonstrate care and concern for the safety of all students.
  • Ability to keep your attention to the safety of the students.
  • Promptness and dependability.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team in cooperation with the school staff.
  • Willingness to address disciplinary issues and to report them to administration.
  • Ability to treat all students in a respectful, responsible, and fair manner.
  • Ability to demonstrate appropriate responses to student-initiated interactions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality as the norm in all issues related to students, parents, and school.
  • Physically able to perform duties outside in all forms of weather.
  • Physically able to climb stairs and walk distances during supervision.
  • First aid and CPR an asset.
