About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Supervisor to join our team at Galiano. As a Food Service Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food service department, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and high-quality food.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of food service staff, ensuring that they are working efficiently and effectively.
    • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to ensure they are meeting expectations.
  • Food Quality and Safety
    • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards, and take corrective action when necessary.
    • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain a high level of food quality and presentation.
  • Customer Service
    • Address customer complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner, and take steps to resolve issues promptly.
    • Ensure that customers receive exceptional service, and that their needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Prepare and submit reports on food service operations, including sales, inventory, and customer feedback.
    • Manage budgets and cost estimates for food service operations, and make recommendations for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a food service supervisory role.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions quickly.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of quality and safety.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • Work Environment
    • Fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and pressure to perform.
    • Standing for extended periods and frequent lifting and carrying of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Personal Suitability
    • Client focus and ability to work effectively with customers.
    • Efficient interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
