Job Title: School Psychologist

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide a wide range of psychological services to students in a timely and responsive manner. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments, interpreting results, and developing individualized intervention plans. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and youth in a school setting and possess a doctoral degree in Psychology with declared competence in Clinical Psychology or School Psychology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive cognitive and diagnostic assessments with children and youth
  • Interpret assessment results and write comprehensive reports
  • Determine individualized intervention goals and establish strategies to facilitate child development
  • Provide clinical and educational information to school personnel and parents/caregivers
  • Participate in case conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings
  • Work closely with the Learning Resource Team and other treatment providers on interventions
  • Develop and deliver training workshops and training tools for staff and parents/caregivers
  • Maintain proper case records and adhere to confidentiality guidelines

Qualifications:

  • Experience in delivery of psychological services to children and youth in a school setting
  • Doctoral degree in Psychology with declared competence in Clinical Psychology or School Psychology
  • In-depth knowledge of legislation, codes, and regulations related to psychological services and individual education plans
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, as well as strong independent and team-working skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents/caregivers, and other professionals

What We Offer:

The York Region District School Board offers a competitive compensation and benefits package based on qualifications and experience. Salary range is $82,000-$105,000 annually.
