Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Psychologist to join our team at Natrona County School. The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing the learning and mental health of all children through measuring and interpreting their intellectual, adaptive, academic, social, and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer standardized and/or supplemental assessments to measure the intellectual, adaptive, academic, functional behavior, social, and emotional development of children.
  • Communicate with students, parents, teachers, and other personnel to evaluate situations, solve problems, and resolve conflicts.
  • Compile information from various sources to produce comprehensive evaluation reports in compliance with established guidelines.
  • Consult with teachers, parents, and other personnel to provide responses to informational requests, collaborate on plans for services, and make recommendations to meet the goals for student success.
  • Coordinate with community agencies to determine appropriate educational programming and identify services and tools needed to support student learning.
  • Counsel with students, parents, and guardians to enhance student success in school.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate school-wide program development and program evaluation to ensure effective programs to assist children who experience physical, mental, social, or emotional difficulties.
  • Develop and review behavior plans, curriculum modifications, and other treatment programs to implement treatment programs.
  • Facilitate meetings, processes, and other activities to meet curriculum guidelines and ensure state mandates are achieved.
  • Intervene in occurrences of inappropriate behavior of students to assist students in modifying such behavior and developing successful interpersonal skills.
  • Monitor district compliance with state and federal regulations to ensure procedures and protocols are current and provide updates to stakeholders.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars as assigned to convey and/or gather information required to perform functions.
  • Prepare a wide variety of written materials, including correspondence, memos, behavior improvement plans, reports, and required documentation, to document activities, provide written reference, and convey information.
  • Provide transition services for students to facilitate appropriate and positive transition from district programs.
  • Provide interventions and mental health services/support to develop social and life skills to enhance student services and ensure student success in school.
  • Provide interventions and instructional support to develop academic skills to enhance student success in school.
  • Research resources and methods to determine the appropriate approach for addressing students' functional goals.
Requirements
  • Master's degree
  • Must hold or be eligible to hold school psychologist license or intern permit through state licensing board
