We are seeking an experienced Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Manager to join our team in Brampton, ON, CAN. As a WHS Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and developing a team of WHS professionals. This individual must create and execute leadership development plans for their teams, communicate team expectations, and provide frequent feedback to ensure the team is executing to the core competencies of an Amazon WHS professional.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable Amazon WHS Policies.
- Measure site's performance against published requirements in WHS policies, identify deficiencies, and drive accountability for implementing solutions.
- Analyze WHS metrics, review incident trends, and justify the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where the WHS risk is highest.
- Perform frequent site WHS audits to identify non-compliant equipment and/or processes at the site, implement solutions, and prevent injury at other sites.
- Audit recordkeeping practices and Gensuite entries to ensure compliance to global WHS standards and regulations.
- Audit the workplace organization and Associate behaviors to ensure that training, auditing, and scoring methods are accurate and consistent.
- Ensure site leadership and Associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
- 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with site leaders.
- Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies.
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Distribution Center or Manufacturing EHS experience with mix of exempt and non-exempt employees at a site of at least 250 people.
- Masters' degree.
- Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
- Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic organization.
- Certified Safety Professional.
$65,000 - $80,000 per year
