Job Summary:

As a key member of the R&D tax team at ATS Corporation, you will work with various business segments to identify scientific and technological aspects of projects that qualify for R&D tax credits. You will be responsible for conducting interviews with technical personnel, writing and reviewing project reports, and communicating with finance teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meet with engineering team leads and project managers to understand project scope and identify R&D opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with engineering and finance staff to provide high levels of service to business units and corporate group.
  • Prepare persuasive responses to tax authority challenges regarding project technical merit.
  • Write and review technical project reports to support R&D tax claims.
  • Adapt and apply knowledge to different business segments and build on core capabilities.
  • Participate in training on financial and tax implications, preparation, and reporting aspects of R&D benefits.
  • Occasional travel to the US and Europe may be required.
Requirements:
  • Degree or diploma in a technical area (Science and/or engineering).
  • Science, technology, or engineering industry experience as a technical writer or technician.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Past R&D tax experience is advantageous.
