Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Tomlinson Group of Companies. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Health and Safety Program Development: Develop and implement effective health and safety programs to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  2. Workplace Inspections: Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions to prevent accidents and injuries.
  3. Training and Education: Provide training and education to employees on health and safety procedures, protocols, and best practices.
  4. Incident Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations of accidents and injuries to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
  5. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, including the Health and Safety Act and WSIB Act.
  6. Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with employees, management, and external stakeholders to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
Requirements
  1. Education: University or college diploma in Health and Safety or related field, or an additional 4 years of experience.
  2. Language Skills: Bilingualism is an asset.
  3. Experience: 5+ years of related industry experience.
  4. Knowledge and Skills: Good understanding of the Health and Safety Act and Regulations, WSIB Act, and effective communication and teaching skills.
  5. Certifications: Certified WSIB JHSC representative, CRSP, and Internal CoR auditor are assets.
