Key Responsibilities- Assess and evaluate commercial insurance applications to determine risk levels and develop underwriting recommendations
- Conduct thorough risk assessments, including reviewing financial reports and ordering inspections as necessary
- Negotiate policy terms and conditions with brokers and clients
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with brokers and clients
- Participate in production calls and meetings to discuss underwriting decisions and strategies
- Provide technical support and guidance to less experienced team members
- University degree or college diploma in a related field (e.g. business, finance, risk management)
- 3-5 years of commercial insurance underwriting experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Competitive salary range: $55,800 - $102,800
