Job Title: Nurse Practitioner, Neuro-Behavioural

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Long-Term Care Division. As a Neuro-Behavioural Nurse Practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional, resident-centered care to our residents and their families.

About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner to work in a dynamic and supportive environment. You will be responsible for managing behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia, providing individualized care, and overseeing pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments. You will also have the opportunity to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive assessment and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia in residents
  • Provide individualized care to residents and their families
  • Oversee pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive assessment and documentation
  • Develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of each resident
Requirements:
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse in the Extended Class (Primary Health Care or Adult)
  • CPR certification designed for health-care professionals and standard first-aid
  • Advanced skills in the assessment, diagnosis, management and treatment of the older persons with delirium, depression, cognitive impairment, confusion and behavioural disturbance
  • Must be physically able to perform all delegated duties
  • Vulnerable Sector Check & TB Skin Test
