Banquet Captain Job Description

The Banquet Captain plays a vital role in ensuring the success of our hotel's banquet and catering operations. As a key member of our Food & Beverage team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our guests and overseeing the work of others during specific shifts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct food, beverage, meeting, and audio visual services for events, ensuring seamless execution and guest satisfaction.
  • Provide customer service through routine duties and tasks, such as taking orders, serving food and beverages, and managing reservations.
  • Effectively communicate goals and expectations to team members, promoting a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Demonstrate a superior customer service attitude, checking on guest satisfaction and following up on requests as needed.
  • Set up and take down events according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), adhering to quality and industry standards.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Hospitality or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Industry-specific certifications, such as FOODSAFE and Serving It Right/Pro-Serve, are mandatory.
  • Cash handling experience is an asset.
  • Professional attitude and appearance are essential.
  • Ability to lead others, with strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain high attention to detail.
