We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Risk Management Analyst Intern to join our team at Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) for a 4-month summer placement in 2025. This exciting opportunity will provide you with hands-on experience in risk management, working closely with our Emerging Risk team and Credit & Enterprise Stress Testing teams.

Job Description:

  • Support the identification and assessment of enterprise-wide Emerging Risks by performing research and analysis, assessing risk impacts to RBC, and assisting with the development of presentations and white papers.
  • Monitor global economic, geopolitical, societal, technological, and other trends and developments, contributing to team analyses and publications.
  • Support the preparation of quarterly and annual reporting of Top and Emerging Risks to senior management and the Board.
  • Support the updating of the enterprise's Risk Inventory.
  • Support the development of scenarios for stress testing and tabletop exercises.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A business-related university degree and general understanding and awareness of current global events and basic economic concepts.
  • Excellent writing and research skills, strong interpersonal skills, and conceptual thinker.
  • An ability to understand and explain complex concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, Word).

Salary Information: The estimated salary for this internship is around $25-30 per hour, totaling approximately $40,000-$48,000 for the 4-month duration. Please note that this is an estimate based on industry standards and may vary depending on individual circumstances.
