About the Role
This position is responsible for overseeing the full project management lifecycle for the Construction Services Department at Brookfield Properties, ensuring seamless and efficient operations that meet tenant and owner expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project finances and schedules, performing monthly forecasting and creating budget revisions as needed.
- Approve invoices and purchase orders, providing accurate project updates to stakeholders.
- Assist with tenant coordination, reviewing construction documents for compliance with Brookfield TDCM and leading coordination efforts with tenants and consultants.
- Monitor tenant construction projects to ensure compliance with building standards and quality, gathering pre-construction documentation.
- Participate in budget estimates and schedules for proposed Landlord Work, recommending consultant and contractor selections.
- Ensure Landlord obligations are met, key milestones dates are identified, and projects are delivered successfully on time and within budget.
- Review documentation during the project, including shop drawings, schedules, site instructions, and change orders, ensuring required closeout documents are received and filed.
- Monitor deficiency lists and review projects at the end of the warranty period for defects and non-compliance items.
- Advise management on up-to-date construction management concepts and practices.
Requirements
- Minimum three to five years of related experience in retail, commercial, and base building construction and renovations.
- Previous experience in property management or construction coordination is an asset.
- Post-secondary education: university degree preferred.
- Civil engineering technologist diploma from a recognized institution with ASET Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) designation.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, including advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Microsoft Project.
- Experience working with Yardi or similar property management accounting software is preferred.
