We are seeking a skilled Master Carpenter to join our team at Marcantonio Designs.

Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced carpenter to work on various construction projects. As a Master Carpenter, you will be responsible for reading blueprints, preparing layouts, measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.

You will also be responsible for fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware, as well as scheduling and coordinating work on sites. Additionally, you may instruct apprentices and supervise other workers.

The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. They will also be physically fit, able to handle heavy loads, and work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials
  • Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Schedule and coordinate work on sites
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Supervise other workers

Work Environment:

You will be working in a commercial or industrial setting with varying levels of noise and dust. The work site environment can be noisy and dusty, and you must be able to work in these conditions safely and effectively.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a similar role
  • Excellent physical fitness and ability to handle heavy loads
  • Ability to work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
