Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Supervisor to join our team in Central Alberta. As an O&M Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and inspections of various complex provincially owned water infrastructure projects over a large geographical area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the maintenance, repair, and rehabilitation of all provincially owned water management infrastructure in the Camrose, Red Deer, and Vermilion areas, including dams, pump stations, pipelines, canal systems, and weirs.
  • Complete required scheduled inspections to determine changing site conditions, structural conditions, and maintenance requirements.
  • Monitor projects to ensure operational objectives are being met during varied flow conditions, including floods and droughts.
  • Operate various water infrastructure according to operating plans and engage with stakeholders and landowners related to operations or concerns.
  • Participate in the on-site Workplace Health and Safety Program in accordance with the Department's Health and Safety policy.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in O&M supervision, with a strong background in water infrastructure management.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address complex issues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on safety and efficiency.
