About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Therapist to join our team at the Child Development Institute. As a Family Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing mental health services to children and families in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Treatment Planning: Lead assessments and develop treatment plans in collaboration with clients and their families.
  • Counseling Services: Provide individual, family, and group counseling services to children and families, as identified in the treatment plan.
  • Case Management: Lead case management activities, including case review meetings, and coordinate with other professionals and organizations to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, progress, and outcomes, and prepare reports as required.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with other CDI staff, including clinicians and experts in their field, to ensure seamless service coordination and delivery.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Master's degree in Social Work or a related field, with eligibility to register with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) or a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario.
  • Clinical Knowledge and Skills: Proven experience in applying various mental health intervention modalities, working with children, youth, families, and groups in a therapeutic or clinical setting.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent listening and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients and their families.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Professionalism and Integrity: Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, respect, and accountability, with a strong sense of integrity and ethics.
