Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Child Care Professional to join our team at Unity Child Care Centres. The successful candidate will work in an urban setting, providing high-quality care and education to children aged 0-12 years.

About the Role

This is a permanent position requiring 35-40 hours of work per week. As a Child Care Professional, you will be responsible for creating engaging and educational programs for children, promoting their physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.

  • Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that cater to diverse learning styles
  • Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers and lead activities such as storytelling, teaching songs, and taking children on outings
  • Encourage creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • Guide children in proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits and prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and submit written observations to early childhood educators or supervisors
  • Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings and establish guidelines for behaviour
  • Establish and maintain relationships with co-workers and community service providers and plan an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
  • Plan and organize activities for school-age children before and after regular school hours
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

  • Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • CPR Certificate
  • Security clearance and immunization records
  • Own transportation or access to public transportation
  • Punctuality, dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, interpersonal awareness, judgement, reliability, team player, and values and ethics
Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is $55,000-$65,000, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including dental plan, health care plan, paramedical services coverage, vision care benefits, group insurance benefits, life insurance, and Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP).
