Fire Alarm Technician Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm Technician to join our team at Everguard Fire Safety. As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, modifying, programming, and servicing fire alarm and fire protection systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications, schematics, and operational/product manuals.
  • Rack panels, run wiring/cabling, install devices and conduit.
  • Work with Emergency Lighting and Monitoring Systems.
  • Evaluate plans, customer requests, code, and non-conformance issues to determine specific solutions and recommendations for customers and management.
  • Troubleshoot fire alarm, fire suppression, and sprinkler systems troubles and concerns.
  • Prepare stock materials for daily execution of assigned work orders and optimize material utilization.
  • Support take-offs and prepare proposals/quotations as required.
  • Complete daily reports of completed work orders and activities.
  • Ensure safe work practices are followed and safety leadership is demonstrated in all aspects of the job.
  • Mentor other team members, including apprentices and field service labor.
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call/call-out emergency service.

  • Completed training in various fire alarm systems (e.g. Siemens, Autocall, Simplex, Edwards, and Notifier) would be an asset.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to travel to and work out of remote client sites. Overtime may be necessary; therefore, flexibility in hours of work will be required.

We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package, including a salary range of $25.00 to $34.00 an hour, 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 4:30pm, on-call, overtime, and evening/weekend work. Group benefits with regards to medical and dental are available on a cost-share with the Company, as well as vacation time.
