Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm Technician to join our team at Everguard Fire Safety. As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, modifying, programming, and servicing fire alarm and fire protection systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, inspect, maintain, modify, program, and service fire alarm and fire protection systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications, schematics, and operational/product manuals.
  • Work with Emergency Lighting and Monitoring Systems.
  • Evaluate plans, customer requests, code, and non-conformance issues to determine specific solutions and recommendations for customers and management.
  • Troubleshoot fire alarm, fire suppression, and sprinkler systems troubles and concerns.
  • Prepare stock materials for daily execution of assigned work orders and optimize material utilization.
  • Support take-offs and prepare proposals/quotations as required.
  • Complete daily reports of completed work orders and activities.
  • Ensure safe work practices are followed and safety leadership is demonstrated in all aspects of the job.
  • Mentor other team members, including apprentices and field service labor.
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call/call-out emergency service.

  • Completed training in various fire alarm systems (e.g., Siemens, Autocall, Simplex, Edwards, and Notifier) would be an asset.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to travel to and work out of remote client sites. Overtime may be necessary; therefore, flexibility in hours of work will be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2+ years' field experience servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems across various industries.
  • College/Trade level education in Electronics or Fire Protection Technology, along with applicable fire service certifications, jurisdictional regulatory permits, and/or valid CFAA and ASTTBC would be preferred.

What We Offer:

Everguard offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. The salary range is $25.00 to $34.00 an hour. Work hours are 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 4:30pm. On-call, overtime, and evening/weekend work is sometimes required. Group benefits with regards to medical and dental are available on a cost-share with the Company, as well as vacation time.
