We are seeking a qualified School Counsellor to join our team at the Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE).

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide guidance and support to students, teachers, and parents to promote academic success, social-emotional well-being, and a positive school climate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to support students' academic and personal growth
  • Provide crisis intervention and conflict resolution services
  • Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to create a supportive learning environment
  • Communicate with parents and guardians to keep them informed of their child's progress
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in school counselling
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in Counselling or a related field, and have experience working with students in a school setting. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
