Corvus Construction Ltd is seeking a skilled Journeyman/Woman Carpenter to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in the construction and renovation of residential buildings.
Key Responsibilities:- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements.
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
- Survey building locations and levels.
- Instruct apprentices and supervise other workers.
- Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various establishments.
- Carpenter Trade Certification.
- Carpenter Red Seal Certificate.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Own transportation.
- Own vehicle.
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced construction environment with minimal supervision. The position requires a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling. Handling heavy loads and working in physically demanding conditions are also essential.
