Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Food Service Supervisor to join our team at Wings Up in Kitchener. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our food service department.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train a team of staff members. A strong understanding of health and safety procedures, as well as knowledge of food preparation and presentation, is also essential.

You will be required to work closely with our head chef and kitchen staff to ensure that all menu items are prepared to a high standard and presented attractively to customers. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be crucial in ensuring that orders are fulfilled efficiently and accurately.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective food preparation and service
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and hygiene
  • Develop and implement effective systems for managing stock, waste and inventory control
  • Ensure accurate ordering and receipt of supplies and ingredients
  • Manage cash handling and maintain accurate records of sales and revenue
  • Liaise with suppliers and other external partners to resolve any issues or concerns
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with industry best practices and new technologies
Requirements:
  • Degree or diploma in hospitality management or related field (an asset)
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a similar supervisory role within the food service industry
  • Proven track record of success in leading teams and achieving results in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work effectively in a dynamic and ever-changing environment
